Taylor Heinicke committed to playing through ankle injury this week, vowing to do “everything he can”
The Falcons planned for Taylor Heinicke to be their starting quarterback for the rest of the season, but an ankle injury may force them to change plans for Week 18. Heinicke was limited in practice due to the injury but returned for a full practice on Friday before starting against the Bears. However, he was pulled late in the game due to the ankle issue. Head coach Arthur Smith said Heinicke will do “everything he can” to play against the Saints, but they will also get Desmond Ridder ready to play. The winner of the game will win the NFC South if the Panthers beat the Buccaneers.
