The 49ers waived running back Tyrion Davis-Price to make room for free agent safety Logan Ryan. Davis-Price had limited playing time this season and as a rookie, and was supplanted by undrafted free agents in the same rookie class. This move follows the short-lived tenure of running back Trey Sermon, the team’s third-round pick in 2021. Now, Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell are the top running backs ahead of Jordan Mason on the depth chart.
