Bears’ Caleb Williams Stands Firm After NFL Fines Him for His Cleats
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was fined $11,941 by the NFL for wearing unauthorized Caddix cleats with visible logos during the October 18 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Although the league only permits Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour logos on game day, Williams defended the cleats, emphasizing their design benefits for injury prevention. Despite the fines, he plans to continue wearing them. Caddix CEO Jack Rasmussen stated that the company, which has no endorsement deal with Williams, will cover any fines, turning the penalty into an opportunity for publicity. Williams has until October 30 to appeal the fine.
