Philip Rivers makes a comeback: A look at what the Colts practice-squad QB has been up to since his retirement in 2021
Longtime NFL quarterback Philip Rivers, who last played in 2020, is making a comeback with the Indianapolis Colts after a successful workout. Rivers retired in January 2021 after a 16-year career with the Los Angeles Chargers, but has since been coaching high school football. In August 2021, he won his first game as head coach of the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals, and in May 2022, he was enshrined in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Despite his retirement, Rivers’ potential return to the NFL could impact his Pro Football Hall of Fame eligibility, as he was named a semifinalist, but he is already recognized in his home state for his accomplishments.
