Jets’ Kris Boyd shot by 20-year-old charged with attempted murder
Frederick Green, a Bronx man, has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of New York Jets player Kris Boyd in midtown Manhattan. Boyd was shot in the abdomen during an altercation with a group of men who made fun of their clothing. Despite the shooting, Boyd visited the Jets’ facility after a few weeks, surprising his teammates. Boyd, a cornerback for the Jets, had struggled during his childhood but maintained a positive outlook on life. The incident adds to the challenges the Jets have faced this season, with the deaths of former player Nick Mangold and Dallas Cowboys player Marshawn Kneeland.
