Adrian Hill, NFL referee, escapes serious injury after receiving assistance off field during Thursday Night Football
During the Thursday Night Football game between the Houston Texans and Buffalo Bills, NFL referee Adrian Hill injured his left leg but reportedly avoided major injury and his Achilles tendon is intact. He may be able to return this season. Hill was carried off the field and replaced by Roy Ellison as the referee for the remainder of the game. Ellison had to take on the umpire’s responsibilities as well. Hill, who has been an NFL official since 2010, left the game on a cart and was taken to the locker room. The Texans ultimately won the game, with a final score of 23-19.
