Former Cleveland Browns star Bernie Kosar to undergo liver transplant following complications from internal bleeding
Former NFL quarterback Bernie Kosar, 61, is set to undergo a liver transplant after years of battling liver-related issues. He shared the news on social media, thanking supporters for their thoughts and prayers. Diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson’s disease, Kosar has been hospitalized for internal bleeding and five procedures. He played 12 seasons in the NFL, leading University of Miami to a national championship before joining the Cleveland Browns. Kosar is third all-time in Browns history with 21,904 passing yards, leading the team to three AFC championship game appearances. He later played for the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins before retiring.
