Sam LaPorta placed on injured reserve by Lions
Tight end Sam LaPorta has been ruled out for the Lions’ game against the Eagles and will miss at least three more games due to a back injury. He has been placed on injured reserve, with Brock Wright and Ross Dwelley as the remaining tight ends on the roster. The Lions have also released Pat O’Connor and signed Michael Niese, while elevating Tom Kennedy and Jackson Meeks from the practice squad for Sunday’s game. LaPorta will not be able to return until Week 15 at the earliest.
