Authorities say man in Windsor arrested for carjacking and stabbing, prompting shelter-in-place order
A 37-year-old man was arrested in Windsor after a stabbing and carjacking incident that led to school lockdowns and a neighborhood shelter-in-place order. The victim was found with a stab wound and reported that a homeless man, Daniel Tirado Gonzalez, had stabbed him and stolen his car. Deputies located the stolen vehicle and issued a warning that Tirado Gonzalez was armed and dangerous. Residents were ordered to shelter in place while three schools were placed on lockdown. Community members assisted in locating Tirado, who was arrested without incident. The investigation is being handled by the sheriff’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault team, and Tirado’s bail is set at $1 million.
