Kyle Dugger, Patriots’ safety, practiced with the second-string defense on Sunday
Kyle Dugger, who signed a $58 million contract with the Patriots, is currently listed as a starter on the team’s depth chart. However, it is uncertain if he will actually be starting once the season begins, as he was running with the second-string defense at practice. Dugger was drafted in 2020 and highly regarded by former coaches, but it is unclear if new head coach Mike Vrabel sees him in a prominent role. In the preseason opener, Dugger started but during practice, Jabrill Peppers, Jaylinn Hawkins, and Craig Woodson were the top safeties. The starting lineup for the season remains uncertain.
