Concerning Injury Plagues Falcons Wide Receiver in Early Training Camp
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Darnell Mooney suffered a shoulder injury during training camp and will miss several weeks of the preseason. The injury occurred when he dove for a catch and had to be helped off the field by a teammate. Mooney, entering his sixth NFL season, will miss the chance to build chemistry with quarterback Michael Penix Jr., the team’s new starter. Mooney had a strong season in 2024, catching 64 passes for 992 yards and five touchdowns. With Mooney out, other receivers will have the opportunity to step up, including DJ Chark. Atlanta currently has 13 receivers on the roster.
