Sudanese-Palestinian flag-waving Super Bowl halftime performer arrested months after performance
41-year-old artist Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, the Super Bowl halftime show performer who raised a flag combining Sudan and Palestine colors, has been arrested for resisting an officer and disturbing the peace during Kendrick Lamar’s performance. Nantambu snuck the flag in without organizers’ knowledge to protest human suffering in Sudan and Gaza. NFL has banned him for life from all league events, commending law enforcement for charging him. Despite initially saying they wouldn’t press charges, New Orleans police changed their stance due to Louisiana State Police’s investigation in collaboration with the NFL. Nantambu made headlines by claiming he was the target of a shooting by Antonio Brown at a boxing match.
