Steelers ready to give Jaylen Warren a heavy workload following Najee Harris’s exit
Steelers running back Jaylen Warren is preparing for an increased workload this season after Najee Harris, last year’s leading rusher, left in free agency. Warren, who was the team’s No. 2 back in 2024, is expected to be the primary ball carrier for Pittsburgh. Coach Mike Tomlin believes Warren can handle the additional touches. Warren modified his offseason training to focus on longevity and preparation for more carries. With the departure of Harris and changes at quarterback, Warren understands the need to step up and make up for the missing carries. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is confident that Warren can fill the void left by Harris.
