Steelers secure Aaron Rodgers with new deal after lengthy free agency period
Aaron Rodgers, 41, has signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers after previously being let go by the New York Jets. The Steelers had been in contact with Rodgers for months before finally landing him. Rodgers had other suitors, including the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings, but ultimately chose Pittsburgh. Last season with the Jets, Rodgers had 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He is a four-time MVP and 10-time Pro Bowler who spent 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers will join a Steelers team known for being playoff contenders under head coach Mike Tomlin.
