Veteran CB Darby retiring after 10 NFL seasons

After 10 NFL seasons, veteran cornerback Darby announces retirement.

Veteran cornerback Ronald Darby has retired from the NFL, informing the Houston Texans who placed him on the reserve/retired list. Darby, 31, signed a one-year contract with the Texans in March after being released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was expected to be a veteran backup for the team’s starting cornerbacks, but his retirement leaves a gap in the depth of the group. Darby had 107 career starts in the NFL, while the rest of the non-starters on the Texans have 25 combined. He finishes his career with eight interceptions, 106 passes defended, and 447 tackles over 10 seasons in the league.
