Dolphins release former Pro Bowl RB Raheem Mostert due to salary cap constraints
Raheem Mostert, former Pro Bowl running back, has been released by the Miami Dolphins in a salary-cap saving move along with cornerback Kendall Fuller and tight end Durham Smythe. The Dolphins are facing one of the worst salary-cap situations in the NFL, being $15.9 million over the cap. Mostert was due to make $4.065 million next season but was released to save $3.065 million. He had success in his first two seasons with the team but took a secondary role in 2024 to rookie De’Von Achane. Achane is expected to be the feature back for the Dolphins moving forward, while Mostert hits free agency as a 33-year-old veteran.
