Cowboys making progress in finalizing coaching staff
The Mike McCarthy era has ended in Dallas, and Brian Schottenheimer has been chosen as the new head coach. Owner Jerry Jones allowed all assistant contracts to expire, including McCarthy’s. Schottenheimer has hired Klayton Adams as offensive coordinator and Matt Eberflus as defensive coordinator. Derrick Foster has been brought on as the running backs coach, with Tashard Choice staying with the Longhorns. Conor Riley has been named the new offensive line coach. On defense, former Bears assistants have joined Eberflus in Dallas. The coaching staff is still being filled out, with the experience of Schottenheimer’s staff being crucial due to his lack of NFL head coaching experience.
