Report: Matthew Slater has parted ways with Patriots
Matthew Slater, a 10-time Pro Bowler and former special-teamer for the Patriots, will see his long-term tenure with the team end as his position as special assistant to coach Jerod Mayo will not carry over to the new regime under head coach Mike Vrabel. Quarterback Drake Maye praised Slater as a mentor during his rookie season, helping him in all aspects of life. With Vrabel taking over, major changes are expected, marking the end of Slater’s extended time with the Patriots. It is unknown what Slater’s next move in football will be as he looks towards the future outside of New England.
