Bears close to securing new head coach from familiar background
Ben Johnson, the former offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, is finalizing a deal to become the new head coach of the Chicago Bears. Despite being a top candidate for the Las Vegas Raiders head coach job, Johnson chose the Bears instead. He will work with quarterback Caleb Williams, the top overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Johnson’s success with the Lions, leading the NFL in points per game and total yards per game, made him an attractive candidate. The Lions will now need to find a new offensive coordinator and potentially a new defensive coordinator as well.
