Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa Should Consider Retirement After Concussion, Says Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez
Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left Thursday’s game with his third confirmed concussion in two years. He is facing calls from NFL greats to retire for his long-term health. Hall of Fame tight end Tony Gonzalez suggested that Tagovailoa should walk away from the NFL. Fellow retired stars Andrew Whitworth and Richard Sherman also agree. Tagovailoa had displayed concerning symptoms, such as the “fencing” posture after head injuries. Despite signing a lucrative contract extension recently, Tagovailoa had previously considered retirement due to his medical history. The concern for his health and well-being outside of football is prompting these retirement suggestions.
