NFL, NFLPA at odds on Van Noy treatment in K.C.

Differing Opinions between NFL and NFLPA on Van Noy’s Treatment in Kansas City

Jamison Hensley, an ESPN reporter covering the Baltimore Ravens, won the National Sports Media Association Maryland Sportswriter of the Year award in 2018. In Baltimore, Ravens linebacker Kyle Van Noy criticized the Kansas City Chiefs for their treatment of his eye injury, prompting disappointment from the NFL Players Association. The association’s executive director, Lloyd Howell, emphasized the importance of timely medical treatment under the collective bargaining agreement. The NFL, however, defended the Chiefs’ medical staff, stating that Van Noy received appropriate care. Van Noy suffered a fractured orbital bone during a game against the Chiefs and has not practiced since.
