Teenager arrested for suspected shooting of San Francisco 49ers player Ricky Pearsall
San Francisco’s district attorney has charged a 17-year-old with five offenses for shooting San Francisco 49ers player Ricky Pearsall during a robbery attempt. The unnamed suspect is facing three felonies and two enhancements related to the shooting. The teen is from Tracy and is currently held in a juvenile facility. The DA is reviewing the case for possible transfer to adult court. The incident comes amid a competitive mayor’s race and efforts to improve public safety. Despite a slight increase in juvenile arrests for violent crimes, they still account for less than 10% of non-fatal violent crimes in the US. Pearsall has been released from the hospital.
