WR Pearsall sidelined for at least 4 games following shooting injury
San Francisco 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest during a robbery attempt in San Francisco, resulting in him being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list for at least four games. Pearsall, who was in stable condition after the shooting, was released from the hospital within 24 hours. The suspect, a 17-year-old male, was arrested on the scene. The team signed offensive tackle Brandon Parker to fill Pearsall’s spot on the roster. The incident was not believed to be targeted at Pearsall due to his NFL status. The team continues to work on left tackle Trent Williams’ contract as they prepare for the upcoming season.
