Chicago Bears appoint rookie QB Caleb Williams as a captain
Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has impressed his Chicago Bears teammates and coaches, being named one of the team’s eight captains after only four months with the team. Other offensive captains include wide receiver DJ Moore and tight ends Cole Kmet and Marcedes Lewis, while defensive captains are linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and TJ Edwards, safety Kevin Byard, and cornerback Jaylon Johnson. Williams joins the likes of other rookie quarterbacks who have been named captains and started in their first season, such as Joe Burrow, Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, and Anthony Richardson. As the NFL season kicks off, more teams are expected to announce their captains soon.
