Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland out 6-8 weeks with stress fracture in foot

Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland sidelined for 6-8 weeks due to foot stress fracture

Dallas Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland will miss the start of the season due to a stress fracture in his foot, requiring surgery and an 6-8 week recovery period. Bland had a standout season last year with a league-high nine interceptions and five touchdowns. With star cornerback Trevon Diggs returning from injury, the Cowboys will rely on Jourdan Lewis, Caelen Carson, and Andrew Booth in Bland’s absence. New defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will lead the team as they look to improve on their 12-5 record from last season and make a deeper playoff run. They will open the season against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8.
