Bears pad D-line, trade for Browns’ Williams

Bears bolster defensive line by acquiring Browns’ Williams in trade

The Chicago Bears acquired defensive tackle Chris Williams from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick and a seventh-round pick. Williams, who previously played for the Indianapolis Colts, adds depth to the Bears’ defensive line. The Bears also traded for Darrell Taylor from the Seattle Seahawks to add flexibility to the defensive line. Coach Matt Eberflus plans to rotate edge rushers opposite Pro Bowler Montez Sweat. The team had considered trading for Matthew Judon from the New England Patriots but did not pursue it further. Overall, the Bears are focused on bolstering their defensive line in preparation for the upcoming season.
