NFL using ‘integrity representatives’ to monitor suspicious in-game gambling activity

Integrity representatives from the NFL to monitor suspicious in-game betting behavior

The NFL has increased its efforts to educate players on gambling policy and monitor integrity after a successful offseason with no player suspensions for gambling violations in 13 months. In-person training on the rules, including not betting on NFL games and avoiding gambling while with the team, is mandatory for players in 2024. Coaches and staff are also prohibited from betting on sports. The league has partnered with the National Council on Problem Gambling to address responsible gambling initiatives, including a national helpline and programs aimed at preventing gambling addiction. Contacts to the helpline have increased, and ResponsiblePlay.org has attracted over 753,000 users since its launch in 2021.
