The Dallas Cowboys are keeping quarterback Trey Lance as a backup, potentially as a contingency plan if Dak Prescott leaves in 2025. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Lance will make the team’s 53-man roster and needs to see more from him in the final preseason game. Jones hinted they may not sign Prescott to an extension before the season starts.
