Vegas police object to NFL’s face-ID access policy

Las Vegas police oppose NFL’s face recognition access policy

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and union officials are objecting to the NFL’s new facial-recognition access policies at Allegiant Stadium. They are concerned that this technology compromises officers’ privacy by collecting personal information. The union has urged officers to not work Raiders home games if the policy remains in place. The NFL defended the new policy, stating that access photos will only be used for identity verification. Las Vegas police and the Nevada Republican Party support the union’s stance against the changes. Discussions between the NFL and police officials are ongoing to address concerns and find a resolution.
