Campbell expects RB Gibbs (hammy) to be ‘fine’

Campbell anticipates RB Gibbs’ hamstring injury will not be a major concern.

Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell reassures fans that running back Jahmyr Gibbs will be “fine” after leaving practice with a hamstring injury. Additionally, rookie CB Terrion Arnold and second-round CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. also suffered injuries. Despite these setbacks, the Lions decided to remove pads for an upcoming scrimmage to avoid further injuries before their preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Campbell also mentioned that QB Hendon Hooker, recovering from a concussion, could potentially play in the upcoming game. Hooker, who received solid game-time reps in the preseason opener, has been encouraged by his mother and coaching staff to slide more to avoid contact. Detroit will kick off their season against the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 8.
