Cowboys rookie OT surprises in team’s first padded practice

Rookie Cowboys offensive tackle shocks in team’s initial practice with pads

Dallas Cowboys rookie left tackle Tyler Guyton, the 29th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, impressed in the team’s first padded practice by holding his own against star edge-rusher Micah Parsons. Despite it being just one practice, Guyton’s performance is a promising sign for the Cowboys as they look for a replacement for departed left tackle Tryon Smith, who signed with the New York Jets. Smith, an eight-time Pro Bowler, battled injuries in recent years. If Guyton continues to progress, he could prove to be a valuable asset in maintaining the team’s strong offensive line, which helped them win the NFC East title in 2023.
