Dolphins sign Tua Tagovailoa to record-breaking $212 million contract extension
The Miami Dolphins signed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a four-year contract extension worth $212.4m, making him the third-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. The deal includes $167m guaranteed, ranking eighth among quarterbacks. Tagovailoa was seeking a contract similar to other top quarterbacks drafted in 2020. He participated in offseason workouts and the start of training camp. Tagovailoa threw for 29 touchdowns and 4,624 yards in a successful 2023 season. The Dolphins made the playoffs but were eliminated in the first round. The extension will keep Tagovailoa with the team until 2028.
