Broncos sign key offensive lineman to a four-year extension
The former third-round pick, Meinerz, agreed to a four-year deal worth $80M with $45M guaranteed, making him one of the highest-paid guards in NFL history. He is signed through the 2028 season, surpassing Garett Bolles’ deal as the most lucrative in Broncos history. Meinerz has been a top guard in the league for the past two seasons and is now the top investment along Denver’s offensive line. GM George Paton’s 2021 draft class, including Meinerz and Patrick Surtain, has been successful. Broncos coach Sean Payton has a history of investing heavily in interior offensive linemen for success.
