LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte cleared of online gambling charges as a Patriot
Kayshon Boutte, wide receiver for the New England Patriots, will not face prosecution for illegal online gaming charges while underage and a player at LSU. He was arrested for creating a fake betting account and placing illegal bets on NCAA games, including some involving his own team. However, it was determined that he did not bet against his team or cause financial losses to anyone. Boutte completed a gambling awareness program and agreed to a ban on gaming in Massachusetts and certain online sites. Despite being drafted by the Patriots, he will face tough competition to make the roster at training camp. The NFL is still reviewing his case.
