Report: Judon, Pats ‘not close’ to agreeing on new contract

Judon and the Patriots are far from reaching an agreement on a new contract, report says.

The New England Patriots have re-signed several players ahead of the 2024 season, but star linebacker Matthew Judon is not among them. Judon, who is set to make $6.5 million in the final year of his current contract, has been offered an extension by the team but the two sides are reportedly far from reaching an agreement. Judon’s injury history and age may be factors in the Patriots’ reluctance to offer him a considerable raise. Despite this, Judon participated in mandatory minicamp and will continue to do so during training camp, which begins later this month. The Patriots are set to begin training camp on July 24.
