Gleason to be recognized at ESPYS for his work in advancing ALS awareness

Katherine Terrell, a Baton Rouge native and LSU graduate, returned to ESPN in 2022 to cover the New Orleans Saints after covering the Cincinnati Bengals. Former Saints safety, Steve Gleason, who has been battling ALS since 2011, has been selected to receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2024 ESPYS. Gleason founded the nonprofit organization Team Gleason to support individuals with ALS and was instrumental in passing the Steve Gleason Act in 2018. He also received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2020 for his advocacy work.
