Jets cut ties with cornerback Tae Hayes following his arrest for marijuana possession
The New York Jets released cornerback Tae Hayes after his arrest on marijuana possession charges in Alabama. Hayes, 26, was arrested in Morgan County early Sunday morning and posted bond shortly after. The Jets initially stated they were aware of the arrest but decided to release Hayes less than 24 hours later. Hayes joined the Jets in October and appeared in one game, recording two tackles. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent and had stints with several teams before joining the Jets. In his career, Hayes has 18 tackles and two pass breakups in 14 games.
