Ex-Raider Jones pleads no contest, may avoid jail

Former Raider Jones enters plea deal, potential to avoid jail later

Former Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones pleaded no contest to a domestic violence charge, avoiding jail time if he meets certain conditions. He received a suspended 90-day sentence that will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for six months and has no contact with the victim, except for court orders. Jones, 34, was arrested twice in 2022 for violating a protective order and was released by the Raiders. He had made social media posts criticizing the team, leading to his placement on the non-football injury/illness list. Jones, a four-time Pro Bowler, did not play in the NFL last season after his arrest.
