Flores gets selected for NFL’s accelerator program
Brian Flores, the Minnesota Vikings’ defensive coordinator and former head coach of the Miami Dolphins, will participate in the NFL’s fifth accelerator program to increase diverse candidates for front office and coaching positions. Flores filed a lawsuit in 2022 alleging racial discrimination in hiring practices. He will join 26 others at the league meetings in Nashville. The program aims to introduce candidates to league decision-makers and provide professional development opportunities. Previous participants have gone on to secure prominent coaching roles. Despite none of the 2023 participants landing head coaching jobs, several accepted coordinator positions. The program has been praised for breaking down barriers and providing opportunities for success.
