Jed York to assume role as primary owner of the 49ers
Jed York is set to take over as the principal owner of the San Francisco 49ers, buying enough equity from his mother, Denise DeBartolo York. York, currently the team’s CEO, will continue in that role while becoming the franchise’s principal owner. His parents, Denise and John York, will remain significant shareholders. The 49ers have a successful history, with five Super Bowl titles won under the ownership of Edward J. DeBartolo Jr. The team has seen stability and success under coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch since 2017. Trump pardoned DeBartolo Jr. in 2020.
