Patriots Signing Brissett to One-Year Contract
The New England Patriots are set to sign quarterback Jacoby Brissett to a one-year, $8 million deal. Brissett, who began his career with the Patriots in 2016, will provide depth and competition at the quarterback position after the team traded Mac Jones. Brissett has mostly served as a backup throughout his career, starting 48 games and accumulating 51 touchdown passes and 23 interceptions. He most recently backed up Sam Howell for the Washington Commanders, earning praise for his mentoring role. Brissett has also had starting stints with the Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns.
