“Dolphins sign Smith to help strengthen TE position”
The Miami Dolphins have signed tight end Jonnu Smith to a two-year deal worth up to $10 million. Smith is expected to be the team’s top receiving tight end, with Julian Hill more of a blocker and Durham Smythe in a hybrid role. Smith was released by the Atlanta Falcons, where he posted career highs in receptions and yards last season. He previously played for the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans, where he was a third-round pick in 2017. The Dolphins have struggled to get production from the tight end position, and hope Smith will provide a boost.
