Steelers part ways with WR Robinson after one-year stint
The Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson to save $10 million against the salary cap. This move, along with the earlier release of cornerback Patrick Peterson, created nearly $17 million in additional cap space before the start of free agency next week. Robinson was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams in 2023 but was not very productive in the Steelers offense, recording only 280 receiving yards on 34 catches. Despite being a valuable contributor in other aspects of the game, his high salary led to his release from the team.
