Dolphins create cap space by releasing Howard and Ogbah
Marcel Louis-Jacques, ESPN reporter, announced that the Miami Dolphins will release cornerback Xavien Howard to clear cap space. Howard represented a $25.9 million cap hit and cutting him would save Miami $18.5 million after June 1. Howard, a former All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler, has had a tumultuous relationship with the team, which signed Byron Jones to a larger contract before drafting another cornerback. The Dolphins also announced the release of defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, saving $13.7 million.
