Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and DC Mike Zimmer opting out of NFL combine attendance
Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy and defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer will not attend the NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis next week, opting to stay in Dallas instead. McCarthy explained that they want to focus on their roles at The Star, the team’s practice facility, and continue working on changing the defensive scheme and setting the coaching staff. They plan to participate in the combine process through video calls and meetings and will still interview prospective players over the computer. McCarthy had previously skipped the combine last year to focus on his role as Dallas’ play-caller and the team finished with the league’s top-scoring offense in 2023.
