Steve McMichael gets blood transfusion, has MRSA infection

Steve McMichael receives blood transfusion and contracts MRSA infection

Steve McMichael, recently elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame as he battles ALS, has had a health setback. He was hospitalized for a urinary tract infection and has now contracted an antibiotic-resistant staph infection. The family released a statement asking for prayers as he undergoes a blood transfusion for MRSA. McMichael was a defensive tackle for the 1985 Bears and played 15 NFL seasons, 13 in Chicago. Despite not being chosen for the Hall of Fame through the normal selection process, he was elected this year by the seniors committee and full selection committee.
