How a sixth-grade Willis manifested Hall of Fame 49ers career

From Sixth Grade to Hall of Fame: The Journey of a 49ers Legend

As a sixth grader, Patrick Willis was inspired by the work ethic of football legends like Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, and Roger Craig. He was determined to be like them and believed he had the work ethic to succeed. As a 49er, Willis had a successful career with 733 solo tackles, 20.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, eight interceptions, and two touchdowns. His career highlight was walking out on the field with his childhood idols as the captain of the 49ers. His determination paid off, and he will soon be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
