The Patriots welcome back Hightower as their new linebackers coach
Mike Reiss, an NFL reporter at ESPN, covers the New England Patriots and has been with ESPN since 2009. New head coach Jerod Mayo has hired former Patriots player Dont’a Hightower to work with the team’s linebackers. Hightower brings championship experience from his time at Alabama and with the Patriots. Mayo had expressed interest in hiring Hightower, and both Bill Belichick and Mayo have spoken highly of Hightower’s abilities. Hightower will be working under defensive coordinator DeMarcus Covington, along with former Packers coach Jerry Montgomery, and the returning cornerbacks and safeties coaches.
