Panthers Defensive Coordinator Evero will retain majority of staff
Carolina Panthers linebacker Brian Burns wants the new head coach to “not touch the defense,” and the team plans to keep defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and much of his staff for the 2024 season. New head coach Dave Canales aims to focus on the offense and convince Evero to stay. The Panthers denied Evero the opportunity to interview for the defensive coordinator job with the Jacksonville Jaguars to keep him. Canales faced Evero’s defense twice this past season and struggled, so he is eager to have Evero on his team. The team also plans to bring in Brad Idzik as offensive coordinator. The team is still considering options for Burns’ contract.
