Former NFL Quarterback Norm Snead Passes Away at 84
Norm Snead, a former NFL quarterback and four-time Pro Bowl selection, died at the age of 84. His cause and location of death were not provided. He was drafted in 1961 by Washington and also the Buffalo Bills in the AFL. He spent three seasons with Washington before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite never reaching the playoffs with the Eagles, he was selected for the Pro Bowl in 1965. He then bounced around the league near the end of his career, playing for the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants, and San Francisco 49ers. He retired in 1977 and had 257 interceptions throughout his career. Snead was born on July 31, 1939, in Virginia and achieved all-Atlantic Coast Conference honors twice at Wake Forest University. No information about survivors was immediately available.
